Since 1884, the Fermoy Rowing Club has stood as a pillar of the Irish rowing community. Our history is etched into the very fabric of the River Blackwater, where the 500m sprint course has witnessed generations of talent, from Olympians to humble club volunteers, rowing at Fermoy Regatta creates intergenerational memories. Ensuring Safety on the Blackwater
Participant Conduct
All competitors, coaches, and club representatives are expected to maintain the highest standards of behaviour throughout the regatta.

Follow all instructions from umpires and stewards

Treat all crews and officials with respect

Be on time for marshalling and racing

Unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may lead to penalties or disqualification
Rescue Procedures
Emergency rescue teams are stationed at key points along the 500m course. Spectators are advised to stay clear of the water during races.

Safety boats are on duty at all times

In the event of a capsize, stay with your boat

Signal clearly for assistance if needed

Always follow instructions from rescue crews
